Family and friends!
I am going to the United Kingdom! This Spring break (March 2-11, 2024), I will be going overseas with my college ministry at Highland Baptist Church on a mission trip! We will be sending out 5 teams to 5 different cities in England: Hexham, Teesside, Newcastle, Redcar, and Consett. These areas of England are made up primarily of people who identify as atheist or agnostic. It is our hope- Lord willing- that seeds be planted; and that people see the face of Jesus even in just one of our smiles. Our teams will be partnering with a local church to share the Gospel in a dark place in the world (!!!!), help engage the community through hosting events, leading a worship rally, and (my personal draw to the mission) sharing the Gospel in the public schools (!!!!!). With this opportunity, I will be able to go into public schools and teach the unit on Christianity! What a blessing! As an Education and Religion major at Baylor, this is the heart of my calling. In this, the Lord is going to humble me! I will not have the answer to every question, and this is going to teach me to lean onto the Spirit- for wisdom and answers- like I have never experienced before. Our college ministry has been able to partner with this group of churches for the past 22 years, so it has been a very fruitful ministry partnership.
I am writing to you to ask if you would pray for me as I go. I am asking that you pray that the Lord would give me the words and knowledge when I have none, that the Spirit in me would stir, that I would lean onto the Lord and His strength in these ministry moments, and for the people we come across in the United Kingdom to have softened hearts to the Gospel. As always, we are expectant that the Lord will move in supernatural ways. We are expectant that people will come to Jesus as their Savior. Please join me- and the rest of the team- in preemptively praying for the people of England. Pray that I would meet the people that I need to meet. Pray for the team, that each of us would be a clear funnel for the Glory of God.
As you pray for the team, I am asking that you would pray about helping me fundraise for my trip there. There is seriously NO pressure, but I want to see if the Lord would lead you to partner with me on this trip financially.
The cost of the trip this year is $1,550. That amount pays for the travel costs, ministry events throughout the week, as well as money for the churches to host us.
